Welfare advice and support - Since the Covid-19 struck we have been providing help and advice to users of our services, particularly as written and phone only communication presented a barrier to many parents. We are fortunate enough to have staff members who are qualified and are able to offer the necessary advice and signposting. We have partnered with a qualified welfare rights advisor to support parents whose children participate in our tuition and training programme. They offer advice, information, guidance and signposting in relation to a range of welfare and educational rights advice, including child care cost entitlement. There is a direct correlation between poverty, circumstance, children’s education and their mental health.
We help and support parents with form filling, housing, child tax credit, universal credit and general benefits. Parents turn to us often when difficulty strikes and their children are impacted. We advise parents who need help to talk to use. This is a confidential support for which we are GDPR compliant.
This support is offered on request, by appointment, on specific days and times only.
